Junior/Mid-Level Backend Developer – Operations & Finance

Are you looking for a backend role where your code has a direct impact on how a growing energy company manages its operations and billing? Then come work at Repowered.

Your role on the team

As a Backend Developer on our TOF team (Tooling for Operations & Finance), you’ll build the systems that form the heart of our business operations. You’ll work on our custom back-office system: the place where customer and energy asset settings are managed. Those settings determine how our platform optimizes assets and how we bill customers and partners.

You don’t need to have all the knowledge right away. We’ll provide you with solid guidance and give you the space to grow. What we do expect is that you’re curious, ask questions, and are eager to understand how everything fits together.

Here are some of your responsibilities:

  • You will develop and maintain our custom Django admin environment, which Operations uses to manage all customer and energy asset settings.
  • You'll set up the onboarding integration from HubSpot (our CRM) so that contract and institutional data are imported automatically and reliably.
  • You will build and maintain the pipeline that calculates financial records and generates invoices in Exact.
  • You'll contribute ideas throughout the entire process: you'll be involved from design through implementation.

You’ll work closely with your development team on a daily basis and coordinate regularly with Customer Excellence and Finance to ensure that billing processes are accurate, verifiable, and timely.

What do you bring to the table?

  • A degree from a university of applied sciences or a research university in a relevant field.
  • You're ready for your second or third career move as a Backend Developer.
  • Experience with Python and backend development.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and/or English.
  • You have an eye for detail and believe it is important that data is accurate and traceable.

Pros – it’s great if you already have this, but it’s not a dealbreaker if you still need to learn it:

  • Experience developing production-ready software such as services, data pipelines, or integrations.
  • Experience with web frameworks such as Django or Flask.
  • Experience with CRM or finance systems such as HubSpot or Exact.

Haven't checked off all the boxes yet? No problem—feel free to apply.

About Repowered

We help owners of large-scale energy connections gain insight into and control over their energy. To do this, we balance supply and demand. We provide expert advice and manage assets intelligently. This enables our customers to maximize the return on their energy systems. Our mission? Sustainable energy—at the right time, in the right place, and at the right price.

With about 40 colleagues, we’re large enough to take on challenging projects, but small enough to maintain short lines of communication and an informal culture where everyone knows each other personally.

Hybrid work

Repowered has offices in Groningen and Amsterdam. We work in a hybrid model: part of the time at the office in Groningen or Amsterdam and part of the time from home. During the first two months, we’d like you to be in Groningen at least two days a week so you can get up to speed. After that, we think it’s important that you’re in Groningen for the start of the biweekly sprint, but there’s plenty of flexibility depending on what works best for you.
