White Paper | A New Perspective on Batteries

The effects of grid congestion are becoming increasingly apparent in the Netherlands. Construction projects are grinding to a halt, sustainability plans are stalling, and the stability of the power grid is under strain. Large-scale battery projects could offer a solution, but in practice they are struggling to get off the ground. Why is that?

Part of the story is that battery developers (market players) and government agencies have not yet found common ground. Both developers and government agencies want to make better use of the grid, but they disagree on other issues.

Together with APPM, we developed a white paper that brings together the various interests and perspectives. And no, we don’t have a magic formula that solves everything at once either. However, we do offer a concrete, step-by-step approach to help us move forward together.
