Since early July, TenneT has been publishing data on imbalances in the power grid even faster. The figures are now received with a delay of just two minutes, instead of five. And that’s good news for participants in the imbalance market: faster insight means they can make more precise adjustments.
Even More Precise Management for Repowered
The power grid regularly experiences a shortage or surplus of electricity. TenneT then restores balance using what is known as upward or downward regulating capacity. To help market participants adjust their operations, TenneT publishes preliminary data on how much capacity is being deployed. These figures are not yet final (the final market price is often not determined until a day later), but they do serve as an important indicator.
Because this information is always available with a slight delay, Repowered uses its own forecasts. Our algorithms continuously assess what’s happening in the market, allowing us to make quick and smart decisions.
