Because an electric boiler can quickly ramp up and down, it can respond to fluctuations in electricity prices. Based on technical limitations, heat demand, and the costs of alternative heat sources, the system determines when it is most cost-effective to use the electric boiler.
When electricity prices are low, the electric boiler generates extra heat, which may be temporarily stored in a buffer tank for later use. When prices rise, other sources take over.
