We are pleased to announce that Repowered, in collaboration withGOPACS, has reached an important milestone with the launch of the first automated coupling for capacity-limiting contracts (CBC). This innovative solution marks a major step forward in our efforts to achieve efficient congestion management in the Dutch energy market.
Capacity-Limiting Contracts (CBC)
With the recently tightened requirement for grid operators to implement congestion management, we at Repowered are the first CSP provider to have established an automatic connection with GOPACS’s CBC service. These contracts enable grid operators to address congestion issues by limiting the power output of connected customers on a voluntary basis.
As a CSP, Repowered has entered into agreements on behalf ofAvriSolar with grid operator Liander to help resolve grid congestion. To implement these agreements, Repowered—the first party in the Netherlands to do so—has, in collaboration with GOPACS, implemented an automated interface between the grid operator and the CSP. Through this interface, we receive messages from grid operators and can respond proactively by remotely adjusting production or consumption.
Nils Knoot, Product Owner at GOPACS, emphasizes: “It’s great to see that Repowered wants to be a pioneer in this field. They are already fully prepared to enter the flexibility market with regard to congestion services and CBCs. Although other CSPs will certainly follow, Repowered remains the first CSP to have achieved this.”
The automated integration between Repowered and GOPACS lays the foundation for Repowered to further develop and implement capacity-limiting contracts as part of its Smart Energy Services. This allows us to make customers’ controllable capacity available in an accessible way and deploy it to resolve congestion issues. It is an important step toward better utilization of the power grid and the future-proof development of the green energy system.
