MorgenZon Apeldoorn Solar Park Optimized

Projects Apeldoorn: Solar Power Optimization

Solar park developer MorgenZon was looking for a reliable buyer for the solar power generated by its park in Apeldoorn. Repowered stepped in, and we not only became the buyer (PPA) but also took on responsibility for forecasting and optimizing the park’s output. We do this by implementing solar curtailment. This involves shutting down the solar park when electricity prices are negative.

How does this project contribute to the energy transition?

By opting for solar curtailment and flexibility solutions, MorgenZon is able to create added value. Instead of simply generating electricity, the solar farm can be shut down from time to time to prevent the power grid from becoming overloaded. The grid operator pays a fee for this.

Solar curtailment contributes to the energy transition because it allows us to make better use of the power grid's capacity while keeping it in balance.

About this solar park

The solar park in Apeldoorn is an important step toward sustainable energy generation and the further development of solar energy. By implementing innovative solutions such as solar curtailment and the use of battery storage, we are accelerating the energy transition and maximizing the impact of solar energy.

“Repowered is transparent. They’ve made it clear: ‘The risk remains on your end, but we only step in if we exceed the target. And if it doesn’t work out for you, you can cancel at any time.’ I really like that.”
