The Energy Regulators: Backend Developer Gary Ginsburgh

Insight into and control over your energy. That’s what Repowered’s smart energy providers are all about. But who are the people behind the company? Meet them in the series “The Energy Managers.” In this edition, we speak with Gary Ginsburgh, Backend Developer at Repowered.

“I’ve been working on Repowered’s data team since June. In my role, I mainly focus on the backend of our platform, but I also help out with the frontend when needed. Our platform gives customers insight into their installations and shows how we maximize the value they provide. I develop new features for the platform and ensure that the system remains robust enough to process millions of data points every minute.”

Complex puzzles

“We work with a massive amount of data and a wide variety of data sources. Everything is interconnected, so even a small change can have major consequences. That sometimes makes it a pretty complicated puzzle, but that’s exactly what makes it so much fun. It requires creative thinking, innovative technical solutions, and working with the team to think outside the box. That’s exactly what makes my work both the most challenging and the most rewarding.”

Working toward a better future

“What motivates me is that every day we’re helping to drive the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. That’s important, but it certainly doesn’t happen on its own. I love being able to play a small part in that every day. The culture at Repowered felt right from the start, and since I’ve been working here, it has only exceeded my expectations. The work is challenging, fun, and, not to mention, the monthly team activities make it even better.”

“Yes!”

“For me, Repowered’s real strength lies in its people. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to help. Ideas can come from anywhere, and everyone is taken seriously, whether you’re new or have been with the company for a while. The answer here is almost always “yes.” Whether it’s about improving processes, taking a training course, attending a conference, or an idea for a team outing: it’s appreciated and encouraged. That makes working here incredibly motivating, and you can see that reflected in what we achieve together every day.”
