“My role at Repowered is multifaceted. In short: I manage, design, and develop the IT infrastructure. In addition, I automate software development processes, monitor and troubleshoot systems running in the background, help developers write optimized and scalable code, improve developer productivity, and handle cybersecurity.”
How should you look at that?
The way we develop Repowered Services can be compared to building a house. What our customers see is similar to the appearance and functionality of the house—in other words, front-end development. The plumbing, the equipment, and the sustainable technologies symbolize our smart algorithms that manage assets: the back-end. Just as important are the foundation on which the house stands (the IT infrastructure), the automation and improvement of the construction process (DevOps), and safety on the construction site (cybersecurity). These are exactly the areas I work on every day.
The challenge
The demand for renewable energy continues to grow—and we’re seeing that here at Repowered. New energy markets are constantly emerging, placing ever-greater demands on our systems. As a result, establishing a scalable, low-maintenance, robust, and affordable infrastructure is a significant challenge.
We perform billions of calculations per second, send thousands of commands to our assets every minute, and retrieve gigabytes of data daily from various sources—such as weather forecasts and energy markets—all of which must be processed. And that volume is only growing. Ensuring that everything continues to run smoothly is a major undertaking.
Smart and driven people
My innovative and smart colleagues, who give 100% every day, are the heart and soul of the company. It’s buzzing with energy, which creates a pleasant, friendly work atmosphere. Everyone is incredibly driven to deliver top-notch service and contribute to the energy transition. Fossil fuels need to be phased out faster—that’s my view. Only when you work in the energy sector do you understand how complicated that can sometimes be. The fact that Repowered doesn’t shy away from that challenge really appeals to me.
Knowledge is our strength
What makes Repowered so strong? It’s the vast amount of in-house expertise we have on the energy markets. My own strengths lie more in fundamental IT issues, such as complex coding challenges. Still, I also need to understand the energy markets. I’m able to do that thanks to the knowledge available internally and the way my colleagues convey that knowledge to me—clearly and concretely. Better than any AI explanation, book, scientific article, or blog post out there.”
